Based in West Sussex, we specialise in drilling boreholes to help you beat the drought. With years of drilling experience under our belts, we have quality, robust equipment that will safely deliver your new fully-lined borehole.
Read on to find out how you can get guilt-free water straight from under your garden.
Boreholes are a renewable, environmentally-friendly way to extract water from the earth and last a lifetime.
Underneath the earth are local aquifiers, similar to underground lakes, that have built up over thousands of years in the mineral strata. This precious resource is most probably sitting in the earth under your land or garden.
We create boreholes by drilling down into the earth and tapping into these water supplies. They are either pumped out, or if there is pressure in the water reserve, an artesian well is created where water simply flows out.
Whilst this is an extremely economical method it is not entirely foolproof and there is no guarantee that water will be found.
Warmer, drier summers and drier winters can mean that our reservoirs don't have the capacity to feed the nation's increasing demands for water. New housing builds also affects this, and together it all leads to water shortages and hosepipe bans, even drought orders in some parts of the UK.
If you have a large garden or plot of land, a lake or a pond, they all need more attention between May and September. In the hottest summer months the water reserves and soil reserves are at their lowest, and these are unfortunately the peak times for gardener's watering needs.
But boreholes can help in many other ways, too:
*Private users can extract a maximum of 20 tonnes per day.
Once we have drilled to the required depth, up to 20 metres, the borehole is lined with a well screen and casing. The casing is non-corrosive and safe, being made of thermoplastic.
We then pack gravel around the well screen - called an annulus. This acts as a filter.
Finally water is then extracted via a submersible pump (supplied by others).
Our boreholes are not created to get potable (drinking) water but for simply watering your garden.
Deep boreholes can cost anything up to £100,000 but the price of our simple economical method range between £1000. - £5000, and we offer a range of options.
